Ground Rules

Please create your account using your full name and CNA number, exactly as they appear on your official records. This information will be used to generate your course completion certificates, so please make sure it is entered correctly.

Welcome to Health Care Ed. Our courses are designed to provide basic nursing education in a format that is clear, simple, and easy to follow. Each course provides one (1) hour of Continuing Education (CE) credit.

To meet the requirements set by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), participants must spend at least 50 minutes reviewing the course material before they can move on to the quiz. This time requirement helps ensure that everyone has had enough time to read and understand the information presented in the course.

If you are already familiar with the topic and finish reviewing the material quickly, we encourage you to go back and review the content again until the required 50 minutes has been completed. You will not be able to move forward to the quiz section until the system records that the minimum time requirement has been met.

A timer located within the course material section will track your time and show you when you have completed the required reading time. If you log out before the 50 minutes is completed, the timer will pause and will continue from where it left off when you log back in.

To help ensure participants stay engaged with the course material, activity on the page is monitored. If the system detects a period of inactivity, you may be automatically logged out, and the course timer will stop until you return.

Each course includes a short quiz that is designed to be simple and straightforward. After each attempt, your score will be displayed immediately. You may retake the quiz as many times as needed until you achieve a passing score. The minimum passing score is 80%.

Please note that participants may complete no more than 12 CE hours within a single day.

Once you have successfully completed the course and passed the quiz, your course certificate will be available for download. We strongly recommend that you save a copy of your certificate for your records. The state requires CNAs to keep records of their continuing education certificates for at least four (4) years.
